Hello!

I'm Saranya, founder of The Bombay Poetry Crawl. I started this venture in 2020 to read my city better, clearer, slower. The poets opened my eyes up to the multiplicitous layers of history, class, gendered and sexual experiences, labour, caste-based realities, daily stories, small humours, celebrations, defeats, languages and identities that coexist in the cramped, folded lanes of Indian cities. Bombay/Mumbai/Bambai was my starting point, but I attempt to crawl through, preserve, archive, and map out other cities through their urban poets. There's so much more to walk through.
