THE NAMDEO DHASAL POETRY CRAWL

Co-hosted with Akshay Shimpi. Following his book of poems Gaandu Bagicha, the Namdeo Dhasal Poetry Crawl is a bilingual walk held in both Marathi and English, with Akshay Shimpi. We walk through the lanes of Kamathipura to explore Dhasal’s residence, neighbourhood, the birth of the Dalit Panthers movement, various local businesses and industries, the role of literacy and the post system, and how sex, labour and gender collide, as well as trace social reform movements of the 20th century.
